  4. Toshiba of Canada leads mobile computing marketplace with new extended three year warranty and reduced pricing on selected notebook, pen and portable computers

  7. Markham, Ontario (November 1, 1993) Toshiba of Canada Ltd., Information Systems Group 
  8. (ISG) announced today a new three-year warranty program and reduced pricing on selected 
  9. models of its industry leading line of notebook, pen and portable computers and CD-ROM drives. 
  10. The new pricing positions Toshiba as the price leader in the 486-based notebook marketplace.

  12. The extended three-year warranty applies to Toshiba's T4500 and T4600 Series, the T6600C 
  13. portable multimedia computer, the T100X pen based notebook and the Desk Station IV which are 
  14. purchased after November 1, 1993. Many new products introduced after November 1 will be 
  15. included in the three-year plan which provides international parts and labour coverage at no 
  16. additional cost.

  18. Toshiba's new pricing represents potential customer savings of five to 20 percent on selected 
  19. models. For example, the T1900C, a 486SX-based notebook with 200MB hard disk drive and 
  20. Enhanced STN passive matrix colour display, has been reduced from a suggested list price of 
  21. $4,359 to $3,599, an approximate 17 percent reduction. The suggested list price for the recently 
  22. introduced T6600C portable multimedia computer system, has been reduced by nine percent from 
  23. $11,399 to $10,699.

  25. According to Robert Grossman, Toshiba ISG vice-president and general manager, the new pricing 
  26. and warranty program reflects Toshiba ISG's own slogan, "Tough Enough for Today's World."

  29. productivity for Toshiba clients. Now, with our extended warranty and outstanding pricing, we 
  30. can deliver on our promise of total customer satisfaction for two more years at the very least and, at the same time, make Toshiba quality a more affordable option for every business customer.

  32. today's demanding business environment."
